Earths Climate has been changing, for billions of years. John is right. It's math WR, if hot air gets to the poles, the amount of Heat getting radiated into Outer Space will increase, not linearly, but to the fourth power. What the average is over the longer term is not being discussed. John is making an observation about the above normal temperature air mass that is in the Arctic Pole region at the moment.
