Democracy is about people power, and the billionaires have more power than the people these days with Citizens United. Billionaires don't need social programs, and don't want social programs, because they have to pay taxes for them, and so they cut them like they are doing right now!! Depending on them out of goodness of their hearts is a fools errand. Musk bought that election with his 275 million. Research shows that the lowest political information people voted for Trump by 19%. And that was the difference. In politics money is power and it is better to have the "people" in power, then hope the billionaires will do the right thing. History shows they have never done the right thing by the people, and they sure as hell are not doing it now with cutting all the social programs people depend on! << One benefit of having billionaires in this administration is that they do not need the money and likely cannot be bought out. Elon Musk is stepping on the toes of the likes of Lockheed Martin and Boeing and calling for massive reform.
