To be perfectly honest, it wasn't! Carol's "Answer = Forty Two" blew me away. She deserves an award!! The twist in her poem hit my funny bone! Gave me a brain cramp! That's a compliment to you, Carol. Actually, you should be given a "most creative award" for that one. Carol? ...I want more! In that state of mind I simply expressed too many thoughts in a humorous way when I should have been sleeping. Unwise. So these were my thoughts: 1)I can agree with Ken's poem if I concede, "I'm the part of a rose that's left after better days". (and remembering, without thorns, the rose can't be sweet) "Gypsy Rose Lee" was only humor linking "Rose" to the last name we have in common. 2)I would enjoy playing a friendly game of chess with Ken if he would like to play also. 3)The "Burma Shave" poem: (-years ago you would see 5 small signs spaced 200 yards apart on the highway and read a poem like this advertising their product) -this one had a quaint double ending for the imagination and appropriate for Valentines Day. though my "stabbing" remark was inappropriate and I don't really require any council on the matter. That was just me carrying on. 4)I desired to show Ken the way they symbolize the game of chess on the chess thread. I'm not endorsing anyone there, yet figured others here wouldn't mind knowing themselves of a different thread that exercises a different form of "deep thought". But I doubt I'll be playing there now unless Ken wants to as well. At times my brother says "Dave I'm not reading here exactly what you're telling me this is about." So I understand why you told me this, Dexx. My words don't reach everybody in the same way. Some of the difference, I hope, is in the reader. Your words are very exact, and I enjoy that, Dexx. You have a precious gift I appreciate very much. ******** "Deep Thoughts" about Spring: Yesterday while working, I heard a bunch of Geese -flying North! While driving home, I smelled a Skunk! No matter what they say, to me "Spring Has Arrived". (This happened in Detroit, Michigan .......well,...the Skunk was a little further North. By now, the Geese are too. Well into Canada by now!) Brake out the Canoes!! <G> Dave
