From the title I had no idea it was historical fiction, based on a book, a finalist for the National Book Award.
Netflix has had several interesting Korean shows.

We enjoyed Pachinko. Interesting historical fiction. We were a little disappointed with the ending.
My wife is going to read the book. It may be that the book ending is a little too abstract for television.
But overall, nicely done- especially the perspective on the ground in Japan during WWII.
