<<What a pathetic sales team. Was it you who said that the IBM deal
came about because of the IBM guy running into Ancor while surfing Internet?
Well, as more people surf the Internet, perhaps Ancor will sell a switch here and there
yet. Why don't they just get rid of the sales
department, would save them some money and the new 11 million they just got would
last a bit longer. >>

There have been changes made to the Ancor sales team over the course of the past year and more on the way.Doug Hermanson was formerly VP Sales and is now Area Sales Director Western Region. There is an obvious job opening for VP Sales which is being recruited. The new Western Area sales director is an industry veteran with many industry contacts. One of the Brocade co-founders actually used to work for this guy.
Ken Hendrickson was smart enough to transfer OEM responsibility over to Carla Kennedy ( OEM's are primarily a Marketing responsibility in the high tech world ) and bolstered her dept further with the recruiting coup of Craig Frane as Director of Product Management. CF was responsible for the marketing activites for all the high end FC/SCSI-type products coming out of Seagate Minnesota. It is fair to assume that CF was very familiar with both Ancor and Brocade personnel as well as the MKII and Silkworm technologies. He is hitting the ground running as his primary responsibility is Storage OEM's.

My take on the salesforce role is that the domestic sales team's primary responsibility is the high performance LAN space, while Marketing handles most/all of the Storage OEM's. Interestingly, I heard the FCA appears to be switching gears ( no pun intended ) to promoting FC for the LAN in addition to the SAN..looks like Ancor was just ahead of the times.

PS- Janski, since you think Ancor is so "pathetic", why take the "gamble" of a 12 month long position on ANCR? Why not go SHORT instead???
