It's incredibly difficult to time the market, some say impossible. Who for instance, would have predicted Dell going almost straight from 80 to 129? That's 49 points, more than enough for a 5-10 bagger, even if one used further out expiry options. Yet I missed it, although I have been real busy with other work and wasn't really watching Dell very closely. Yet, if one just got in at a fairly decent price (anywhere, anytime in Dec - Jan. 98, with a 2,3, or 4 month expiry cushion) and ignored the proceeding flucuations, you'd be a big winner today. I feel like a dolt for missing out completely on that one.
