You are talking about "MSM science", not to be confused with real science.
Main Stream Media (MSM) reports the news, which includes the weather, and includes reports from scientists. MSM reports local and national news and weather in detail, and world weather and news in general. If you want more detailed world news, you have to connect to sources in the world that are nearest to the location of interest.

As to very heavy snowfall; Higher temperatures lead to higher evaporation of the oceans, which leads to more precipitation of rain and snow. The scientists have been telling you and everyone else that weather is becoming more extreme. Maybe you haven't noticed? MSM has reported it, but what the hell, is no-one listening?
