what? by one chip? 10,000? 100 million? this statement is near meaningless except it does say that
mot shouldn't increase output. even then, it doesn't say that their bit output will decrease b/c they
may switch to 64 mb chips and produce lots more bits (the important consideration here!) on fewer
"chips."


Motorola already took a charge (last june I belive) to get out of the
DRAM business completely. They're probably now transitions the fabs.
Mot wasn't a significant DRAM player anyway.
