What a lousy reason to short! Why don't you wait for the bull market to end first? Seems like good common sense to me.

If AT&T buys into @Home (and I bet they do), the formula changes. AT&T is hungry to enter local calling, and cable is the course of least resistance...also where AT&T can control its own destiny. AT&T will make all kinds of statements how they won't subsidize the HFC buildout, but that's the cost to them for the franchise. The MSO's are holding the cards, and AT&T needs to get in now while the network specs are being written and boxes made.

This land was grabbed a long time ago. AT&T just landed on Boardwalk, but they have a ton of money to cover the rent for all those houses and hotels...
