re DELL customer service and loyalty.

check out posts #3491 and 3493.

Like you I have had the pleasant experience of dealing with DELL customer service. Last August I wanted to upgrade a 486 66 I bought in 93 or 94. Told them the machine ID #, told them that I wanted to put in an overdrive to speed it up, and they told me the appropriate *compatible* part number -- and simultaneously warned me that I would have to upgrade the BIOS as well, and told me what version to use.

My previous experience had been dealing with an ACER machine with a bad motherboard: and I will never knowingly buy anything that has an ACER part in it again.

It makes a difference! DELLish, 3
