New York Times: IBM to explore nytimes.com Gee, I guess IBM hasn't read all of the wisdom on this board and doesn't realize the utter stupidity of making tiny disks that replace flash memory in digital camera's. Afterall had they been reading this board they would realize that "Flash has won" and that "disk drives draw way too much current", and "they could never be rugged enough to work in cameras". Geez, that IBM must be as stupid as Iomega! ""Now, IBM is exploring the market for tiny disks designed to plug into the same receptacles as the flash memory chips now widely used in digital cameras. The cameras, are creating a need for high-capacity "digital film." The plan is to mass produce wafer-sized disks that will store more than 500 megabytes of data and have enough shock resistance to withstand the family camping trip. ""
