Oil prices are dropping because of initial reaction to signing of an agreement between United Nations and Iraq. This reaction may be premature, however, since Clinton and Albright have not even seen what was signed yet. Those two are not going to give an inch on anything. I doubt this guy Annan has the best interests of the U.S. in mind when he signed that agreement. It is a joke that the U.S. cannot do its own negotiations with Iraq and this United Nations guy has to do it for us. Anyway, in all likelihood, Clinton and Albright will tell Annan to get certain things in the agreement changed or else the U.S. will not sign it. What are the chances that it is a perfect agreement? Insane will probably not make all the changes, hence we commence the bombing. I want a diplomatic solution to this mess as much as the next guy, but to me the chances are slim to none.
