FYI-Bay is scheduled to present at the BancAmerica Robertson Stephens Tech Conference in San Francisco this afternoon at 3 pm. Perhaps the relative weakness in Bay today is due to investors waiting for the company's comments. Cisco is scheduled to present later in the week as well.

I think that BayNetworks will gain significant momentum when either Nortel or Lucent play their hands in the internetworking marketplace. With Cisco's IP over voice strategy, both Nortel and Lucent are exposed to a monumental potential loss in revenue and strategic significance if left unchecked. Which they will most certainly not do. So stay close to Bay. I think that we should see some action by Nortel or Lucent to establish a beach head in the Voice over IP business by acquisition of Bay.
