TSO: Semi-equip BTB out - it's weak:
techweb.cmp.com

(BTB for front end now at 0.89 so we have broken below 0.90 as expected. back end still pretty good at 1.10. Got this info. from AMAT thread)

The current overall BTB is lowest in a year at 0.94. Problems cited ASIA and DRAM. On good side - "advanced equipment" likely okay.

See I was trying to tell TSO that this is not a good situation at all! The drop in BTB was from 1.0 in Dec. (revised) to 0.94 in January - that's a sizeable thumping though if I remember correctly the first month is always the weakest and the last month tends to be the strongest so problem unfair comparison.

But my main point all along is that semi-equip front end will be weak and the 0.89 is not good news any way the stock market wants to cut it! Of course the stock-market is "forward looking".

Duane,

Yup, you have! You have been greeaaaat for my confidence and self-esteem:) I used to be afraid of failure, now I know I can fail! <gg>

Still, here's LSI lookin' all ripe for the pickin' at a decent price and sittin' on the cusp of fortune, but I am scared to buy my lead dog a few comrades for the trek UP b/c of you and shane sounding oh so bearish all of a sudden. BUT PLEASE keep it up! It makes me that much more careful to do this right! We always need to hear all sides so we can climb that wall of worry instead of blindly counting on stepping in le sheet. <g>

Cheers!

E
