Ali SoundView is not impressed with recent intels run-up.... With SoundView's PC channel-checks suggesting that desired PC OEM and distribution inventory reductions have not yet occurred, the possible effects on INTC bear considering. Recall that at the time of INTC's fall analyst meeting, INTC indicated that each week of inventory reduction equates to about $250 million of revenue impact for INTC. With our inventory checks suggesting that resellers and OEM's have inventory in the 6 to 8 week range, and with OEM's continuing to target inventory levels in the 2 week range, suggests that (were the full reduction to occur to 2 weeks) INTC's 1998 revenues could be impacted by close to $1 billion (4 weeks times $250 million).
