Hi Mike Welcome to the thread. Since you like to compare DELL to GM, you should compare employee numbers to sales. Try doing that with CPQ and DELL your eyes will drop out. Please tell us if you have shorted DELL.

OTOTOT

In keeping with the transportation theme above. TMXI I little company that has caught my eye. If the Fed starts to crack down on diesel engines like that have all others, this company should do real well. Also, ALK is set to revisited it's recent high.

according to M. Price in recent issue of Barron's, GM should be valued closer to $80 billion. you're comparing an undervalued company with a fast growing firm in two different sectors.

"The DELL Bubble", do you think people care? When the stock goes up and up, shorts running for covering, no one cares about how high the price is!

But I do agree with you that it is a bubble and it will blow someday, but I don't know when.

Michael,

Let me start with a compliment, you parents have chosen a great name
for you. You should be thankful to them.

Second, don't try to be a smart-guy on this thread. It will cost
you money. We have seen so many like you before telling us about
the bubble, what goes up comes down, Dell's ridiculous PE, their
decreasing growth-rate, competitors copying Dell's business-model,
the Asian flu, the $1000-PC, etc etc.

We all know that Dell's unprecedented growth will stop once. But
not this century.

There are so many great short opportunity's out there. Don't try
to make history on Dell by predicting their top. All failed, you
will be a milestone within a few weeks no matter when you start
shorting Dell.

So my advice is;
- go long and stay long,
- otherwise, stay out of this,
- otherwise, if you really want to go short on Dell go talk with
the McNabbs. They will tell you that DELL IS DIFFERENT!!!!!!!!

Good luck and have a nice day,

Paul

Michael,

Maybe this will help you to make the right investment-decisions;

"The focus today, other than on any particular sector, remains on
the institutional investors' must-buy list, which includes Dell,
Lucent, American Online, Microsoft and Intel. They are the five
must-own names, and are seeing significant buying pressure,"
Scott Bleier, chief investment strategist at Prime Charter Ltd. said.

BTW Notice Dell is mentioned first.

Have a nice day,
Paul

I was curious about these numbers too...according to "Stockquest" data, last week's numbers (mkt caps) for DELL/CPQ were; 36.1/53.1= 0.68. This week, numbers are 41.2/51.2 = 0.80! Of course numbers change from wk to wk but that looks pretty rapid, if you ask me!
