The answer to all your customer questions is contained within the thread and at Ciena website.

CIEN is the leader, it's that simple. CIEN is the best pure play, and now it's more reasonably priced. WDM is my favorite sector for the next 10 years.

Favorite sector + market leader + reasonable price (not cheap but close enough) = CIEN one of my favorite stocks for the next 10 years.

Got it? I would suggest you read up on the future of all optical networks (AON) and WDM. If after researching the technology you decide that it's the future of networking CIEN will be the one you will want to own. JDS Fitel is considered a big winner and UNPH is top-notch too. I like them all. TLAB is another favorite but less of a pure play. Everytime one of them blows up it will be time to buy them. I also like a little foreign WDM company that you have probably never heard of.
