>> That's why any idiot knows that becoming political when you are the face of your business.

Musk made it clear, and he was correct: This is the only opportunity that will arise to sort this problem out, and if that opportunity is not seized there is no road back to a stable economic condition.

We are very close to the end of the United States in any recognizable sense. And in fact, had Trump not won, we would be irretrievably in the final stage of the nation's survival. While it is intuitively obvious that had the open border continued, California would have become permanently a blue state, as would have every swing state in addition. That was the plan: Import illegals, make it legal for them to vote, refuse to respect the federal law that required only citizens to vote in federal elections, and four years from now, we would have a permanent state of political corruption. It is where they were headed, plainly.

So, he realized that it had to be done. Like everyone else, I hate taking losses, but I've been willing to do it in order to save the country. My loss is relatively small although significant to me, and I feel that at the end of the day the entire planet benefits.

It is my view that no one else had the organization skill to take this on, and no one else has the brand recognition to make it happen.

It is sad but it is where we are as a nation.

It isn't just politics. History is littered with the corpses of companies torpedoed by their owners public antics. Before Musk, the modern poster boy was Gerald Ratner. Whose Ratner Group suffered a near death experience when Jerry made a funny. His eponymous company ran a series of chain and single jewelry stores serving the low to mid range of the market. A step above the "discounters", but Kay Jewelers is one of their brands.

He made a joke about their merchandise being crap, people didn't like the idea of gifting crap, business imploded, The Ratner Group is now Signet and Gerald is angry and bewildered. And he didn't go full Bond villain and engage in torching the Constitution and trying to overthrow EU governments. We won't mention the Nazi stuff because that would just stretch believability too much...

Has it struck anyone else how woke Disney is jabbing at Mump? I mean, Musk has tried to cosplay Tony Stark as Iron Man in the MCU for years. Even snagged a cameo in one of the films. Since then, well Tony has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, which is an actual thing in the MCU, and has reincarnated as,,,

Dr. Doom.

At least the actor has. Dunno if Dr. Doom is a multi-universe version of Tony Stark or just looks like him. Either is possible in both the comics and the MCU, but I digress...

Is that a glove throwdown on Mump? Or just a diss?
