At the moment, Tesla is a meme stock, much as Truth Social is. Musk took his eye off the ball when he decided to father his own race and head every company on the planet.

Fit and finish is one of the big barriers to new entrants into the car industry. Especially the transition from a few chassis on a shop floor to any semblance of mass production. An area the Brits traditionally got stuck in. As long as progress is made, that can be dealt with in the fullness of time.

Tesla has gotten to where they are because they were able to innovate in ways the traditional car companies could not. It didn't hurt that Elon is a great showman, much in the mold of Jobs. Now Jobs had his own issues with focus at times, and Apple suffered some near death experiences because of it, but Jobs never had the same ambition as Musk. Or greatly limited his use of psychedelics. Either way, Jobs managed to self-correct before the rear bumper scraped the cliff edge on the way down...
