Of course one problem for Trump is that he is not the admirable version of the magnanimous man; he is a made-for-TV simulacrum of one. A made-for-TV simulacrum describes his whole administration, from top to bottom. As increasingly apparent, that also includes Musk. None of these people are anything like who they cosplay. Nor are what they are claiming to do bear any resemblance to what they actually do. It is all kabuki theater. And poorly done, at that. Yet a lot of people seem mesmerized.
