Neither of these countries is, in my view, very friendly to us. We are somewhat better than at Cold War status with Russia and a summer friend with Ukraine. Trump believes he can broker an end to the war. I think he's the best shot we have at doing that at this moment. If he has to play both ends against the middle for a time, that's okay with me.
