Re:Vapor! and size

According to to www.iomega.com:

Drive (LxWxH) 3.37in. x 2.126in. x .256in.

Bear in mind that the page DOES NOT state if these dimensions are for the internal, or external. It is safe to say that this is for the internal due to the fact that these dimensions would not accommodate a AA battery (.256 in width). I just measured one AA battery (a likely power source, Vapor! would require at least 2 of these since it operates on 3.3 volts and disposable batteries provide 1.5 volts), and its dimensions alone are nearly 2 inches long and 5/8 inches thick. Based on pre-release pictures, it appears that the battery/drive configuration is end on end, or length consuming (rather than the drive looking more like a cube). It has been said before in reports that the external unit is electric razor-like in layout and size.

So, if you add the 2 inches from the AA battery, plus the 3.37 inches of the drive, you get around 5 1/2 inches of space-consuming Vapor! This makes it about the same size as a Palm-Pilot.

When actual external units are available for testing, it will be interesting how these facts are dissected and probably blasted by the press.
