Allan, in your TA analysis methods, do those signals allow for retesting the lows (double bottom) before moving higher or are they usually signs of more linear moves? Thanks.

PS. keeping with the "fresher is better" theme.

Re: Projections

Your Majesty:

I appreciate your take on TA. Usually, P&F mavens and Elliotteers have some sort of time targets or parameters for their price projections. Can you provide a time dimension for LGND to reach the targets?

I've mentioned a triangle forming on the LGND chart. It continues to form (and get less ugly). I haven't pulled out my straightedge, but 14 5/8 still looks like the apex, with judgement day coming within the next two weeks.

Could LGND be finishing up a complex Wave 2 (to go with that nice Wave 1 from appx. 11 - 16)? For you non-Elliott Buffetologists, what would come next is, unsurprisingly, Wave 3. Wave 3 of 5 on Planet Elliott is usually gravity-defying (if it pans out: Elliott Wave analysis has called 14 of the last 2 U.S. bear markets). Start tuning up your Fibonacci numbers and Golden Means!

p.s. A 38% retracement of the move to 16 would indicate a pullback to around 14 - 14 1/8, consistent with intermediate support in this area. A 50% retrace would take us to 13 7/16, consistent with your remarks to another poster (and a number you've calculated, no doubt).

HI ALLAN!

I'm very interested in TA too and been with LGND for quiet some time now(for my standards ;-) ). One think i can't follow is:
"Then the rally in early February to 13 broke the downward sloping trend regression channels declining down from last October, thus constituting a BUY SIGNAL, targeting the mid-20's for the move."
I can plot the regression channel and see the breakout (i got Metastock) but how do you get to a target in the mid-20's? Could you explain...

Thanks!

Stefan

>Using a vertical count, Point & Figure analysis projects an initial objective of 26, with a stop about 11.

Updating this analysis, LGND's Point & Figure chart is providing a nice trading opportunity. The objective of 26 still looks good, but now stops on trading positions can be brought up to just under 13.5. A breakout above 16.5 would signal a rise into the mid-20s while a move below 13.5 would negate the bullish pattern. Risk two points from here to make ten.
