Lack of critical thinking skills is a big issue. I deal with mfg that supplies the military industrial complex. The inability to drive to real root cause of a issue is very concerning. This drives costs that the supplier should be making as profit to reinvest. Instead they just spin their wheels, so frustrating. I only get involved when problems become large. It's amazing how simple some of the solutions are but are just so blind to many who want to either inspect it out or want to over engineer the solution. We are headed down a long road if we want to be world class mfg again.
