re: Vapor!

I was talking about the external unit. This is the unit that will be on the market first, as there are no OEM's. The external unit by itself is enough to fill a shirt pocket. For comparison, I have in hand my brand new Sony Micro-cassette recorder that I use to record my small mountain of tapes on which are my plans for an authoritarian world domination.

My 10 year old Panasonic (Matsushita) recorder finally gave out recently. The cassette flip lid had long been torn off, several beers, Cokes and other fluids had been spilled all over it. Still it held on until finally it refused to cooperate anymore. Hence, my Sony. But back to the point.

Anyway, I just measured the Sony and it is 4.6 inches long. It uses 2 AA batteries side by side. Here are the dimensions:

Sony Microcassette recorder
4.75in x 2.25in x 7/8in

Roughly the same size and only marginally thicker than Vapor! This device fills a pocket by itself. A Palm Pilot with an external Vapor! would require at least 2 pockets to carry the whole setup. Might as well relegate it to a briefcase. Oh, wait, a Powerbook will fit in there too. This is no longer convenient.
