Hi, Skipper!!! Where did you go, anyway? I hope you had fun--I was thinking about you the other day and wondered if you were sailing around the world or something equally exotic. I am not sure how Hillary feels about her husband's affairs. There are many rumors of her own long love affair with Vince Foster, and I have heard exactly the same story from two people who lived in Little Rock, which is a pretty small town, at the time. On the other hand, the newsmagazines for the most part paint a picture of a real, passionate marriage where Bill and Hillary even today cannot keep their hands off each other. My own opinion is that Bill Clinton did not feel enough love as a child, or experience enough trust and security in his early life, to be satisfied with one woman, and I think his idea of love is somewhat fragile, and he is always compulsively searching for something he will not ever find because it is really a huge hole in his being caused by early deprivation. It might surprise some people, but I tend to agree with Hillary's comment that the only two people who matter in a marriage are the ones who are in it. Aside from the problem of not being a very good example to young girls, while I am trying to parent a teenaged daughter in a society where that is already difficult enough, my problems with Bill Clinton are more with general ethics than the state of his marriage, as long as he can keep it private, but he seems to be so out of control that he is indiscreet. I also think people get the leadership they deserve. Obviously, at the moment Americans are willing to discount most of this, but like you, I see no integrity in the man, either. I wish I had some of that Teflon--I could use it!!
