Very interesting, know that Newmont is still developing a gold mine in the region, and comment on that would be appreciated.

BRE-X may have been a fraud but there are still plenty of mining/exploration companies doing business in Indo:

I think people should remember it was Cdn co. BRE-X who screwed investors, not the Indonesians.

When the political/economic climate stabilizes as I expect it will within months after elections, I suspect we will see a renewed interest in Indo mining/exploration companies because the country is so rich in precious metals.

Antares is one example of a company doing business there who have recently announced about 18M oz. of silver from only 2 out of 34 target zones on part of their Indo property, yet their share price is in the toilet (for months now) like many other good companies having Indo interests.

Also, a new round of COWs have just been granted demonstrating a positive sign that the government is serious about encouraging foreign mining and exploration companies to do more business there.

Regards,
Wayne
