CLEARNET SIGNS UP 50,000 PCS CUSTOMERS IN FIRST
THREE MONTHS

Clearnet Communications Inc. [CLNTF] clearly got off to a good start in the Canadian PCS market during the fourth quarter of 1997, according to financial results the company released today. Of the 65,575 net subscriber additions that Clearnet registered on its digital networks in the final three months of last year, a total of 50,676 were for its CDMA-based PCS service; the balance were for its digital SMR service. The subscriber results constituted "hard evidence of Clearnet's unique synergy of providing two complementary digital wireless services supported by one common organization," said President and CEO George Cope. -From Wirelessworld Today
