and here I am retired and turning down work.... i see there was a survey that consumers have not been this concerned about employment since 2009 ,,, the last big recession - caused by deregulation and thieving brokerage houses and lenders - could it happen again? Heck if I know. cnn.com

its tough out there for many and will only get worse.
for how long, I don't know.

I believe a lot of folks are in dire circumstances for reasons
you outline. I also believe a lot of folks live well beyond
their means and have no idea of what it means to tighten
your belt. It's like a "it's there and I want it" mentality.
