As silly as it seems, this is actually good news to me. It's a further signal that AMD is pursuing the gaming market, which I believe is a rapidly growing and increasingly important niche. Since gaming is one of a few areas which really requires increased processor performance (my Excel spreadsheet DOES NOT), it will play an increasing role in driving the industry to greater performance (and higher margins).

Intel obviously feels the same way, given its entry into the video chip business.

So I'll take this as a good sign. If it had been an AMD press release, I'd be a little bit concerned that AMD thought it relevant enough to make a statement about it. But its a Schooner release.

Interesting concept, by the way, mixing PC interactive gaming and beer. Personally I don't see it working very well. Once you've spilled a beer on your keyboard...well, you know much more about keyboard operation than I do, and can probably draw your own conclusions. : )
