John, this is a real problem for me. I see this thing with Indonesia as a coming disaster that has the potential to drag Asia down again, and a long way too, simply because the total collapse of the economy here will mean that almost ALL of the debt outstanding to Indonesian firms will pass into the nonperforming category, and I see that as having a possibly devastating effect on regional banks (HK and Japan.) Therefore, the looming (expanding) crisis is keeping me on the sidelines with respect to semi equipment stocks, so I'm missing out on a fairly nice rally. I haven't taken up Mason's advice to short Asian-exposure semi equips and go long those without, but will recontemplate that strategy today.
