Whiny people who don't understand that USA was heading over a cliff to Zimbabwe status at $1trillion bank notes. Our great and estimable hero Elon Musk and the great and venerable leader Donald Trump are putting things right. Tariffs are fine. A decade ago and longer I was writing how tariffs are better than taxes locally. A country is its border and funding the country should be derived in part from transactions at the border. So hooray for tariffs. But taking more money is still failure mode. Stopping spending is the big and essential action. Chainsaw sized cuts are necessary, not finicky scalpel action. Stopping invaders is also essential. Old as history and longer ago right back to chimpanzee times, territory integrity has been essential. The Great Wall of China showed the amount of energy that can be needed to defend borders. Conceding defeat having started and lost the war on Russia is crucial too. Zbig, McCain, Graham, Obama, Biden10%, Nuland and the Jew faction thought it a great idea to take over Ukraine, kick Russia out of Crimea and confine it to a land-locked south, while bleeding it in military conflict until it collapsed under sanctions and political disputes. Ooops a daisy. Plans went awry. Russia not only didn't get defeated, they geared up and won. But the action against Syria was successful and Russia's backing that region next to Israel failed. It doesn't look a good move to me because the Syrian jihadists have even more antipathy to the USA, Eurostan, Israel than Assad did. He was almost English. His lovely wife was. Having lost the war on Russia, the Made in China border was moved in one step from the Great Wall all the way back to Hungary where Genghis got to long ago. His descendants now have effective control of Russia = 1.3 billion fairly well off people in China compared with 0.1 billion not so wealthy Russians. Big Blunder by the geopolitics failures Zbig and co who hated Russia more than they loved life. Sorry Vladimir. How about we rebuild those pipelines we bombed and get back to business? Here's all your confiscated money back. Trump's doing great. The little market tumble is just a bit of sense after maniacal monetary madness aka MMT Magic Money Tree. The silly politicians around the world didn't need to say anything. Or introduce any tariffs themselves. If USA wants to charge its citizens some taxes, why get worked up? Why do something stupid yourself because you see somebody do something you think is a bad idea. If USA doesn't want to buy NZ milk, meat, butter, logs, steel, aluminium, fish and stuff, then that's up to them. There is another 7 billion people who do like all that stuff. There might be something I disagree with Trump on, but I can't think of it. I would cut spending faster and bigger but give him a chance. He's underway with DOGE. The border would be locked down - easy. Open season on invaders like Israel did, shooting invaders in the legs. Australia turned back all boats so they boats stopped coming. I'd raise interest rates and make the dollar great again. I'd slowly squeeze gold until it fell to $2000. I'd make crime pay - it should be a profit centre. Criminals would NOT like my methods. Crime would go out of fashion really fast. El Salvador would look like a holiday camp. My cash flow from crime would fall quickly so it wouldn't be a long term source of funds. But spending on police, prisons, courts would go away. Women would be able to walk through parks at 2am with no fear. Mqurice
