INDEX UPDATE
-----------------------

Just a technical tid-bit.

For the last 5 trading days the spread between the intraday highs for each of these days was not more than 27 points.

Here are the intraday highs for the last 5 days starting with 2/17:
8446 8451 8449 8424 8446

Obviously this is a basing formation, and since it is at the highs of a run it normally means topping out. Hey, no one has to remind me that we are in one of the strongest momentum runs, and that this may be the base for the next runup.

Since the NAZ has run-up so well yesterday, it just puts it that much more in the overbought range.

In light of the above, the probability is that today should have some negativity in it, at least intraday if not at the close.

I will not put my money behind this one, but I predict that today's highs for DELL will be the highs until Thur, and that it should pull back 2-4 points off of its highs, not yesterdays close (specifically today's highs which should come before 1 PM).

Hello Patrick

Many thanks for Bonnie's Links....lot of "stuff" to wander through.
>What type of Gann analysis do you want?<
>Do you know astrology?<

I've just begun to look into the work of Gann. What I've found so far
is his mathematical and geometric principles -- Gann Angles, Gann-Retracemant Lines
and his percentages. I am slowly beginning to understand his language and
methods of application. I'm interested in the time applications of his
work and how he measured the relationship to price movements.
Wonder Why..? >chuckle<

I know that he used astrology to pin-point potential turning points...as
well as moon and equinox cycles. He believed that mass pschology effected
markets and thought this could be measured through astrology. That big
astrological events could effect the greed and fear of market players.
A big event -- similar to what Astroecon has brought to our attention.

I personally have a cursory knowledge of astrological terms (squares, conjucts, etc),
but have never realy attempted to approach the finer applications of these influences.
And have not astro traded.....In your opinion will this hinder the usefulness of
Gann's work..?
If so....Robert Hitt and the success of his interpretations, becomes
very important if one is to use all of Gann.

So far...Gann is kind of an enigma...he's mentioned in one breath as a
legendary trader and in the next as just getting by at the end of his
life selling books and teaching courses on his work.
Maybe the 'Stars' turned against him...>chuckle<...or maybe he just got
bored at being so successful..?
Patrick...have you incoporated any of Gann into your trading?
Chip
