Bonefish,
Well. Keep reading. You'll find out why.
I don't need to "keep reading," because it's clear what your position is.

You think all of the negativity around Trump's tariffs are overblown. Samo samo. "What, Me Worry?"

You really don't have any clue how our global economy works.

You talk as if you're nothing more than a simplistic reseller of goods who can easily pay tariffs and pass the costs onto your consumers, who will gladly pay because they have no other alternatives.

That's why I keep asking you what your skin in the game is, but you won't answer because deep down, you know you're FOS.

I keep reading, Bonefish ...

Trump threatens additional 50 percent tariff on China (The Hill)

Trump thinks he's holding all the cards. What a dumbass.

And you celebrate this? How pathetic.

Bonefish,
Well. Keep reading. You'll find out why.
I keep reading, and I found out why there was a brief market rally:

*******
The False Tariff Headline That Sent Stocks on a $2 Trillion Ride (WSJ, paywalled)

News that tariff-shocked investors had been dying to see began circulating on social media around 10:10 a.m. in New York: “HASSETT: TRUMP IS CONSIDERING A 90-DAY PAUSE IN TARIFFS FOR ALL COUNTRIES EXCEPT CHINA,” the headline read, in an apparent reference to words from Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council.

*******

So you see, the markets rallied not because they finally absorbed the negative shock of tariffs, but because there was a glimmer of hope that Trump would change his mind.

But nope. Trump is the man. He will never give in. Any sign of wavering would be a sign of weakness, and that is a trait unbecoming of Dear Leader.
