Agree, it makes no sense...

I think most all trading accounts also have some kind of rule like that unless you're registered with the IRS and with your brokerage firm as a professional securities trader and are also registered with a mark to market status...

If you apply and get that kind of registration set up for yourself, then you would have no time restrictions on your market trading account...

Then you could trade in and out as often as you like all day with no issues or penalties...

With the 401K I don't think you could make that kind change...
