These are the two conflicting truths that Bonefish must rationalize away to relieve that cognitive dissonance.
That reminds me of when Bonefish compared the difficulty of what Trump is trying to accomplish to "turning an aircraft carrier" ... Message 35096075

Which wasn't true, of course, but Bonefish had to find a way out of the corner that he painted himself into.

Cognitive dissonance. He has to reconcile two conflicting "truths":

- What Trump is doing is analogous to turning an aircraft carrier.

- Trump continually changes course on a whim.
