Yes,they do,Bruce(have great lawyers,i.e.) and they have stated that they are very confident they can win.But I read one reference that the
court battle could last for years,and my question then is,will Merck be
able to market their Cox-2 drug during the court fight.
I sense that Merck is taking the strategy that just because Searle
developed the 1st Cox-2 drug this does not allow them to disallow
future Cox-2 drugs,or,that is,drugs that would then form a family of
Cox-2 drugs.Whatever,this is an interesting case with a lot at stake.
