My question is, is a panic justified? Like shouting, "Fire," in a crowded theater, the ensuing panic can cause more damage to people than the fire itself.

This weekend I was reading Ed Steer who follows the commitment of traders' reports rather thoroughly. He mentioned the commercial short positions in both gold and silver had decreased somewhat. I had meant to go back and look at his review more thoroughly as he has said the numbers have been very bearish for quite some time. Less so now. But I understand from those in the industry that it is the price in Shanghai that is driving the markets now.
