Good you have cordial relations with your ex - I've seen that and I've seen the opposite...

"Alone" time can be important - for some people it is more important than others.

Just figure the things that bother you about your gf - there is always something - then multiply by ten.
If you can live with that level, then probably good to go.
If not, current situation is good.
Or you could try having her spend more time at your house and see what happens.
