MyStoxGoUp, You may be right. However, news of the busted deal didn't come out until after the close. Since this is the second "no go" involving mega-mergers, it remains to be seen that big deals among the major pharmaceuticals can be completed without one suborning to the other. I know Glaxo has appreciated significantly with these merger talks. Can they hold their price if no merger occurs? We may see some downside or sideways movement in the industry until an actual deal takes place between two drug giants.

Individual issues may weather the hit because of their own ongoing stories. Lilly, a company that really hadn't participated in merger mania, had better news today on scripts for Evista. Merck had good news today on their asthma drug. Also, their Board meets tomorrow and there is speculation that a split may be under consideration at the meeting.

The market may even ignore any bad news due to the upward bias and momentum at this time. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Regards,
Bob
