Like the CIA can do and has done many times over several decades, mainland thugs can do colour revolutions, especially in such a close cultural and geographic place as Taiwan.

Ukraine went under to Peace Prize Obama's coup in Kiev under Nuland supervision. Plenty of local yokels can be swayed with cash, power, ideology, revenge or whatever revs them up to murderous action. China can surely foment a little or a lot of such coup action in Taipei.

Of course one needs to be circumspect in such malevolent actions because things can go wrong. Bigly. The French revolution was great fun for the head hackers. But Robespierre ended up on the sharp end of the conflict. Next thing you know Napoleon was in charge and was marching towards Moscow to the tune of the 1812 Overture. Not to be outdone, Great Britain and my great great grandfather John Arms joined with Islamic jihad in Ottoman form to conquer Russia in The Charge of the Light Brigade in Crimea. All was Quiet on the Western Front, not counting 20 million dead, until Barbarossa set out to finally end USSR. Ooops a daisy, that didn't go well either. This time PNAC and Eurostan are gonna really get the job done. Unless things go awry yet again.

Japan showed China and a lot more besides, (including my mother's cousin Harper Bongard who died in a Japanese prisoner of war camp) who was boss with their greater East Asia co-prosperity sphere.

I think China should consider carefully whether the lovely people of Taiwan should be forced to to be enslaved to Beijing's bossy bastards.

Maybe like Norfolk Island has been (perhaps temporarily) subsumed by Australia, China can take over Taiwan. But I think more thinking would be a better idea.
