President Donald Trump’s reported plans to slash $40 billion from the Department of Health and Human Services sent MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow into a ferocious takedown of his MAGA administration’s new efforts.

The primetime host spent the opening minutes of her Wednesday evening show by highlighting the growing backlash to Trump’s policies across the country before flagging reports surrounding his proposal to gut “fully a third of what the United States spends on health care and research.”

“Trump wants to cut all of the CDC’s work, for example, on heart disease and obesity and diabetes and smoking and HIV,” Maddow said. “You think that might galvanize people in this country?”

Maddow stressed to viewers that Trump’s plan isn’t to trim or make the program more efficient, but to eliminate work on the diseases afflicting millions of Americans altogether.

“Yeah, because it's not like any of us know anybody who has any one of those issues, right? No one within the sound of my voice right now has any connection to anyone with heart disease, right?” the MSNBC host said as she ripped into Trump. “Have you ever even heard of that? Heart disease? Does that sound like a foreign concept?”

She added: “I mean, Americans will sure be glad that Donald Trump forced the United States of America to stop working on heart disease altogether, because, yeah, none of us have ever heard of anybody having a heart attack, right? None of us have anybody in our families or anybody we're connected to who's got problems with cholesterol or high blood pressure, right? That's really exotic stuff, right?”

Maddow concluded her sarcastic takedown by proclaiming: “Thank God Donald Trump is going to save us from the waste of the U.S. government working on those woke liberal problems like diabetes.”

Brumar, that "Golden Dome" project sounds a lot like Reagan's SDI, a.k.a. "Star Wars."

It's a nice idea, but it seems "Star Wars" never got off the ground because it was too impractical and costly to implement.

Instead, we focused more on tactical missile defense such as the widely successful Patriot missile defense systems.

By the way, there's a difference between strategic missile defense, which is what SDI was supposed to be, and tactical missile defense, which is what the Patriot is.

It's also the difference between Israel's Iron Dome and Trump's desire for a "Golden Dome." Any comparison between the two falls short because of that.

Iron Dome works because it is custom-tailored against rockets that Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthi camel-fukkers typically launch. Those rockets are MUCH different than intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Moreover, Israel is a much smaller country than America, so Iron Dome only has to defend a much smaller area. "Golden Dome" has to defend the third largest nation in the world. That's kind of tough.

But hey, if the Muskperger wants to try and build this "Golden Dome," I'm all for it, despite his record of overpromising and underdelivering. It won't be the first time we tried to implement such a system.

Of course, this project runs completely counter to Musk's DOGE goals, but hey, everything about the Trump regime is self-contradictory ...
