John,

"Intel is still going to put 3D, Modem, and DVD on the mother board. Would they work with
C-Cube on the DVD piece???????????????"

If for $20/chip they could get ZiVA, they don't need to work with
C-Cube. I am sure the folks at Intel know how to interface ZiVA with
their i740 and I'm sure the folks at C-Cube would be happy to provide
all the "glue" they need.

It is still not clear how much the Chelsea-1 is going to sell for.
As low as it has to be to beat out Zoran, is my guess. However, since
C-Cube sells its decoder independently why mess with that extra markup
when you can do it yourself.

This seems like a no-brainer from Intel's point of view. Of course, Intel will leave it open as to which decoder chip they will use. As of right now, though what are the alternatives? If I'm missing something let me know.
