Americans are hooked on vaccines, sedation and all sorts of anesthesia to avoid pain.

I am not that way at all. I had an unsedated colonoscopy with no IV six days ago and I felt very little, if any pain. Actually, it was pretty cool to see the gastroenterologist take out 3 polyps from my sigmed colon and rectum and see the bleeding while awake. I'm fine. They were all benign and not precancerous. My point here is that this outpatient center in St. George, Utah only gets one or two people a month who request a non-sedated colonoscopy and they do about 20 a day. Do you know how hard it is to find a place that will do a non-sedated colonoscopy. If the procedure takes place in a hospital, the hospital won't do it because that means loss of revenue for them. It is all about the money, golfer. I had my colonoscopy done in an outpatient center and my doctor is a patient advocate so there was no problem. I drove home 43 miles to Mesquite, NV with no issues.

Now I cannot say it was comfortable having a tube up my ass - which is what a colonoscopy is all about- but it did not hurt.

Americans like vaccines and being sedated. I was unsedated for my cataract operations also. And I never got sedated for cavities in my teeth.
