Yes. At a minimum, Russia would need to leave all other parts of Ukraine and let Ukraine join both EU and NATO for future security. Otherwise, Crimea being ceded to Russia is a complete and absolute non-starter. I'd hate to see Crimea lost from Ukraine, it would be a hell of a price to pay for peace, and it would be rewarding Russian aggression. A terrible outcome. But that would be the absolute maximal concession, IMO, that Ukraine should make, and not one inch or land or concession further.

If Putin wants Russia to lose pariah status, that is the deal he should make. Otherwise, give him another 100K dead Russians, and the Russian people will make that decision for him.

Yes.

So basically the position of the Trump Admin is if Ukraine doesn’t agree to all of Putin’s demands, and hand over their power plants and mineral rights to the US, then they don’t want peace so we should walk away from them.
