ASND has always been a trading stock for me, though my definition of that means holding a stock for 1 day, or as long as a month. Currently, my trading $$$ (not very substantial) are locked up in INTCW. Let me say that this is the first time in a year of trading ASND that I've been "bullish and on the sidelines". There's always margin, though . . .

This DECLINING RAS/RAC really bothers me.

This is Ascend's original business and is still 50% of revenues. However fast the CSCC side of the business grows, we can't have half the business flat to negative.

Today I read that management admits RAC is going to be flat to negative. This is very bad. Consider what this means:

Flat
in a growing market.
despite rising ISP prices.
despite the PC boom and despite the $1000 PC
despite the growth of the WAN

How can this be? This is going to be the undoing of the stock. I've been long Ascend through thick and thin, but I have a VERY hard time buying into this kind of environment. Someone dissuade me whose been long ASND through the whole cycle. Assume no takeover.

Matt
