Thanks for posting that lovely piece.

Having lived for a bit in Zimbabwe, I often thought that that country's relatively peaceful revolution and aftermath are due to a certain amount of social stability that comes from farming families being still connected to their urban offspring.

City people go back to their villages frequently and stay for long periods, and there is no shame in it.

Relieves much of the desperation of urban strife.
