There were some EW programs available commercially, for at least a couple of decades. I’ve played with some, over the years. They seemed OK. A little unimaginative - which may have been, more often than not, an advantage :)

Saw some studies over the years about the use of AI for stock picking - as far as I could see, the AI based ETF’s were unspectacular. They’ll get better it time, I’m sure.

If you like to compare stocks, ETF’s, indices - check out a web site called PortfolioVisualizer.com

Edit - my link didn’t light up. legacy.portfoliovisualizer.com

Find the section about Tactical Asset Allocation. I prefer the “legacy” version - the new one has lots of features which I don’t need. They have a menu of studies - moving averages, Relative Strength, Dual momentum. They have a page of samples - so, this becomes clear very fast. The web site went to a subscription model a couple of years ago - but, unless you want to get into more details, the free version will do most of what you need.

The program is based on monthly data. That could be a game killer if you are a short term trader - or generally accustomed to work with Daily data. If trading once a month is OK - the site is very nice.

Even if you don’t like the idea of trading once a month, the monthly data will give you a good idea of where you are in terms of intermediate and longer term.

I was unable to find a daily data backtesting site that I would like. The ones I saw were complicated and confusing compared to this one

If you’ll decide to try it, let me know how it works out.
