Canadian demographics indicate progressively aging population in Ontario, Quebec and Maritime provinces. This indicates Ottawa must increasingly tax Alberta and Saskatchewan with ever higher transfer payments and carbon taxes etc so increasing equalization payments can be made to Ontario, Quebec and Maritimes to cover rapidly increasing health care and pension liabilities. The ONLY recourse Alberta and Saskatchewan have is independence and soon before they are beggared into poverty.
