Today is May 5th and is observed around the world as sinko de mayo... But many people have no clue how that name actually came about... Well, in the early 1600's Spanish ships were making their very first delivery of mayonnaise from Spain to the new world... En route, they ran into some pirates who attacked the ship... In that encounter, the ship was sunk along with all of it precious cargo of mayonnaise That day is commemorated today as sinko de mayo... So, now you know... GZ
